Whether we like it or not, and this
survey seems to indicate that many
Chief Executives are in the ‘not liking
it’ category, regulation does affect
many organisations. The best way
to minimise the ‘pain’ is to get
close to the key government and
regulatory agencies that have an
impact on your organisation, and
to carefully manage your relationships
with them. Strong relationships mean
that compliance obligations are more
easily managed and help to ensure
that changes in government policy
or regulation do not adversely affect
your business. They also enable you
to get involved in government policy
development, which gives you the
opportunity to shape the regulatory
environment in which you
must operate.”
We struggle to cope with changes in government
policy compounded by a lack of clear direction
from government funding agencies.
